“Applications Heartening” (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, July 20. Asker to comment on the progress of the recruiting campaign for assistant examiners for the School Certificate examination, the Minister of Education (Mr Tennent) said nothing could be more heartening than the steady flow of applications. These applications were definite evidence that there were other people determined that this year’s school certificate candidates were not going to suffer through a lack of markers, and the messages which he had received, congratulating him on the stand he had taken, showed the public reaction, said Mr Tennent.
