On Progress
Progress in school buildin,and the development of school sites reported at a meeting of the Canterbury Education Board yesterday included: — Breezes road: Work had commerced on the build ng of eight classrooms. The school was planned to be completed by February. 1963
Cuffs road: Tenders were expected to be called for the erection of four buildings at bh'-> school Sites: A site for a new intermediate school at Veitch road, Nortihicote, and additional land for the postorimary department of Souithbridge District High School had been bought. Tenders: During June, tenders were received for five jobs, one of which involved exipendiiture of more than £30,000 and two others more than £lO,OOO. Grants: The Education Department had approved the following grants: £3158 for the development of the site at Cutts road; £1250 for a contribution towards the sewerage scheme at Cheviot township; £320 for sealing at the Kirkwood Intermediate School
