PENSIONER COTTAGES

Further 52 For City

Applications for a subsidy and for a loan to cover the estimated cost of £90.080 for 52 single-unit pensioners* cottages in Dunarnan street were approved by the City Council last evening.

A report of the finance committee said that the units were estimated to cost £1730 each, and application would be made to the Department of Health for the Government subsidy of £BOO a unit, caving the council to finance by loan £48,400. “This brings the total number of pensioners* cottages up to 430,” said Cr. W. P. Glue.
