MASTER CLASSES FILLED
Vacancies For Observers
All 12 vacancies for performing pianists to have master classes under the Swiss pianist, Bela Siki, at the University of Canterbury from July 23 to 27 have been filled. There are still places for observers. Twenty-five of these will be accepted. Professor J. A. Ritchie, whose music department is arranging the master classes for the Arts Advisory Council. said only observers with sufficient talent and achievement to benefit would be accepted. Preference would be given to music teachers and advanced students. Extra classes for six pianists chosen by Bela Siki from his classes at the Universities of Auckland. Wellington, and Canterbury will be held in Wellington from August 15 to 28 (not August 27 to September 7 as previously announced). This group will not pay fees and accommodation allowances will be paid An invitation recital will be given by these players in Wellington and it will be recorded for broadcasting.
