COAL SALES AND USES
Otago University Course Planned
A course on coal sales and uses will be held in the Coal Research Station at Otago University, from August 14 to August 16. The lectures will cover the analysis and sizing of coal and its effects on combustion, the operation of stokers and boilers, information on gas works’ coal requirements, and case histories of improvements from technical advice given on coal-burning plants. Sprinkler and chain grate stokers will be demonstrated as well as an underfeeder stoker burning various coals of different characteristics. Selling and public relations will also be discussed.
