(N Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY. July 18 England’s Rugby League team overwhelmed the Sydney club champions. St. George. 33-5. before a record week-day crowd of 57.544, at Sydney today. There were a few punching incidents, but play generally was fast and clean. After leading 13-5 at half-time, England scored four good tries in the second half. Tackling by both sides, particularly the forwards, was solid and tough. The match created football history for Sydney—it was the first time a local club side had been matched with a touring team.

Murphy (2). Boston (2). Huddart. Edgar and McTigure each scored tries for England, and Fox kicked six goals. For St. George, Lumsden scored a try and Graham kicked a goal.
