“Portrait Of A Sadist” Paul Hill’s biography of the British murderer Neville Heath. "Portrait of a Sadist." has been placed on the Customs Department's list of banned books.
Copies which were available In Christchurch book shops have been sold Asked whether the book had been withdrawn from the shelves of the Canterbury Public Library, the City Librarian (Mr R. N O’Reilly) said the library had rejected the book as being objectionable and not offering a worthwhile contribution on its subject “It tended to emphasise the sordid details," he said.
