WELLINGTON. July 11

A Tourist Department “task force" will tour parts of the South Island this month as part of a staff training programme Areas visited will be Marlborough, Nelson and the West Coast The object of the tour is to enable departmental officers to inspect developments. meet people interested in the tourist trade and investigate methods of increasing sales of tours in the districts.

The Minister in charge of Tourist and Health Resorts (Mr Eyre) today said tihe tour would be of great value to the 10-man party of managers and sales officers.

"It is also a demonstration of the practical interest of the department in the tourist possibilities of these areas.”

The tour wild extend from July 17 to 30
