Instructors At Anakiwa (N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND. July 10 Three appointments as instructors at the Cobham school at Anakiwa have been made by the Outward Bound Trust. They are: Major Adrian Hayter. of Takaka, sea instructor. Mr E. T. Jones, of Herne Bay. Auckland, a’, present physical education training instructor and Mr J. T. Hebron, of Lower Hutt, assistant manager of the Epuni Boys’ Home. Lower Hutt, bushcraft instructor The • appointments have been' made from a list of more than 80 applicants. The instructors will work under the direction of the warden of the school. Mr H. Thomas. Major Hayter has a considerable reputation as a sailor in small craft. He has.twice sailed single-handed from England to New Zealand.
Arrangements are being made for the official opening of the school at Anakiwa by the Governor-General (Lord Cobham) before his departure from New Zealand in September. The trust has aimed to establish the school as a national testimonial to Lord Cobham, whose personal initiative brought the movement to New Zealand.
