Rangers, after lagging tn the first spell, applied pressure in the later stages to win the Christchurch Cup ice hockev match from Wolves by 3 goafs to 2. Wolves and Rangers are equal in points, and will repicy the natch next week. Wolves had the best of the Play in the first spell, and only 11 >e work by the Rangers goalie L. Smith, prevented them from scoring. Play evened in the second spr.Jl, and both sides netied twice. In the final spell Wolves began to ttre, and their passing and positional play was not up to their earlier standard. Rangers passing was greatlyimproved. however, and they kept play around the Wolves goal scoring near the end of the spell Wolves attacked vigorously far Hie rest of the game, and had several opportunities. but their shooting was very erratic Scorers were:—Wolves: I. McDonald. G. Atkinson. Rangers: B Adamson 1. G. Hitchcock 2. Messrs C. Larsen and J. Le Quesne were the referees.
