Counsel
Counsel engaged in the hearings before the Committee of Inquiry into the Wheat. Flour, and Bread Industries yesterday objected to a suggestion by Mr E. E England 'United Wheatgrowers) that the usual order for cross-examination should be altered when the general manager of the Wheat Committee (Mr L. C. Dunshea) was cross-examined The procedure agreed on at previous hearings was that IMr England should begin | cross-exam nation. followed by Mr P T Mahon (Bakers' and Pastrycooks’ Federation). Mr J G Leegat (S’acev and Hawker. Ltd.). Mr A C Perry 'Flourmillers’ Society), iMr L. J Hensley (Wheat I Committee), and Mr R Pryde (Federated Farmers). Tlie chairman (Mr J H Macdonald) had agreed with a suggestion by Mr England that if he had to begin crossexamination he would have the right to re-examine later Mr Perry objected to this. He said it was wrong beI cause it would allow Mr , England tw’o chances to ask ! questions. Mr Mahon supported Mr I i Perry s objection. He said 'the normal procedure should I be followed. If Mr England’s 'suggestion was adopted he could go on indefinitely. The objection by Mr Mahon 'and Mr Perrv was upheld
