Saskatchewan Premier Receives Threats

REGINA (Saskatchewan), July 10 The Premier of Saskatchewan, Mr WoodrowLloyd. said last night that he and members of his Cabinet have received threatening anonymous letters protesting against the Socialist Government’s stand on tbe medical care dispute.
"I myself have received a moderate number ot these letters. which were unsigned and written in a contrived handwriting," Mr Lloyd told a press conference He had not asked for police protection. "I- have turned some of these letters over to city police, but as far as I know I am not receiving any police protection.” he said The Government announced earlier that a British Socialist, Lord Taylor, bad been called Ln by the Government as a “consultant" in the dispute which led to a striike by
most of Saskatchewan's 900 doctors a week ago It was regarded as a major concession to the doctors when Mr Lloyd said that if Lord Taylor, a former Parliamentarian and well known surgeon, felt some portions of the Medical Care Insurance Act would “interfere with the exercise of medical judgment, these shall be removed ” In another overture to the doctors. Mr Lloyd disclosed that Government officials had ’ met yesterday with representatives of the Saskatchewan clergy, who were acting as unofficial intermediaries in the dispute. The unidentified clergymtn ' were asked to reiterate the Govenment "offer of guaran- ' tees" to the Saskatchewan College of Physicians and | Surgeons as a basis for resumption of normal service.
