TRADE WITH FORMOSA
Mission Seeks Markets (N.Z Press Association) AUCKLAND, July 8. In an ' effort to promote mutual trade, a party of 12 Chinese from Formosa arrived in Auckland tonight. They are led by Mr W. F. P. Ling and comprise government officials and manufacturers. They will spend two days in Auckland and one in Wellington before flying home. The party represents mainly manufacturers of textiles, plastic and wood products. It is the second Formosan trade mission to visit the country. The first, two years ago, was concerned in making a survey of the possibilities of more trade. Mr Ling said the mission hoped to promote two-way trade, and aimed to foster the good relations betwen the two countries. Because Formosa could no longer depend on the sale of sugar and rice, it had over the last eight years developed manufacturing industries and was now looking for markets.
