DANES LIKE N.Z. LAMB
Half The Price Of Own "The Press' Special Service WELUNGTON. July 5. New Zealand lamb at half the price of the home-grown Danish product was becoming extremely popular in Denmark, Mr G. An.tione Moller, a Danish journalist, said in Wellington. Mrs Moller, who is accompanying her husband on a round-the-world voyage, said she bought a New Zealand forequarter at about 3s 6d per lb The same Danish lamb could cost up to 12s per lb but the price was usually about Bs. The New Zealand lamb was of equal quality to the Danish lamb and was pre-cut and attractively packaged Danes traditionally ate lamb at Easter, Mr Moller said Much of the lamb now being eaten was New Zealand: it was pushing the Danish lamb off the market All this had been achieved without the help of publicity —just a recommendation from one person to another. Even the butchers recommended it. There was a potential for New Zealand lamb in this market, for lamb had previously been a luxury Much mutton was eaten in Denmark as part of a prepared dish. “I don’t ask for Danish lamb,” said Mrs Moller, “the New Zealand lamb, though frozen, is equally good.
