Eager To Have Medical School
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. July 5 The vice-chancellor of Auckland University (Mr K. J. Maidment) said today that the university was eager to have a medical school built. Mr Maidment was commenting on a remark by the Minister of Education (Mr Tennent) in Parliament yesterday that the university had refused to accord a medical school a place of priority in its building programme.
Marine Superintendents To Meet.— Marine superintendents will meet in Wellington from July 10 to 12 to discuss registration of New Zealand shipping arid a proposed revision of the articles of agreement in the engagement and discharge of seamen.—(P.A.)
