RUNAWAY BULL

Chase Through Auckland ,(N.Z; Press Association) AUCKLAND. July 4 A runaway 8001 b bull led its owner, a truck driver, three policemen, a traffic officer and the Auckland City Council’s ranger an hour’s chase through Freemans Bay and Ponsonby today. Eventually found in the back yard of a Dunedin street house, the bull was roped by a dog catcher, tied to a lemon tree where he stood snorting and then forced into a truck by 10 men hauling on ropes Being trucked with three others to Westfield, the bull battered the truck pen door and rolled out into Fanshawe street. A bystander yelled a warning to the owner and his truck driver, then ran when the bull looked at him. When the chase began the few pedestrians along the route scampered.
