Common Market
Sir, —I was pleased to read the letter of "Yorkshire Kiwi,” particularly the final sentence suggesting a Commonwealth common market. That would be common sense. A free-trade policy within the Commonwealth countries, with their w’ide and varied range of natural resources, would give vigorous and new life to trade and further raise our living standards. We should then be willing to accept as members, any free democratic nations willing to accept a free-trade policy w’ith us. A free exchange of goods would minimise the risk of a free exchange of bombs. —Yours, etc., ANOTHER YORKSHIRE KIWI. July 2, 1962.
