Thanks For Gift For Children

A letter of thanks for Its recent gift of £lOO to the International Union of Child Welfare was received by the Christchurch branch of the New Zealand Save the Children Fund from the union's Geneva headquarters last week. The letter read by the branJi president (Miss M. G. Havelaar) said that the unexpected gift would be not only of materia] but spiritual benefit to the union. The union, formed in September, 1946, is the result of the merging of the Save the This union, formed in SepChlldren International Union (formed in Geneva in 1920) and of the International Association for the Promotion of Child Welfare (formed in Brussels in 1921). Other business of the meeting concerned plans tor the forthcoming branch annual meeting on July 11 and for other future projects during the year.
