Billiards CANTERBURY TITLE
Simons, Murphy In Form E. Simons and K Murphy were in top form when the second round and quarter-finals of the Canterbury senior billiards championship were completed this week. Murphy, the present South Island champion, showed his best form for some seasons when he easily beat H. Hewinson and T. Hall. He made the highest break of the week. 74 Simons scored a comfortable win over D. Mann, making a I break of 70 He beat D Higgins in a tight game in the I quarter-finals. i B Kirkness. runner-up last season, played well to beat N I Aitken comfortably, and then was easily beaten by the veteran. A Sutherland. Kirkness also made a good break of 73. The title-holder. T.
