Botanic Gardens Fence

Sir, —Many visitors to our splendid public gardens will agree with me and with our councillors about the new fence being built fairly low to enable motorists to view the gardens. Many motorists and their friends, instead of passing along Ro Heston avenue at 30 miles an hour, could, if they were sufficiently interested, spend an hour or two there—inside the fence. A fence high enough to be a breakwind against cold easterlies would be much appreciated by many older people Those who are not good at walking could sit inside and relax and enjoy the peace and beauty of trees, lawns, and flowers.—Yours, etc., A. GARDEN LOVER. June 26, 1962.
