Essex Batsman's Career Highest (N.Z P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON. June 26. The Essex all-rounder, B. Knight, a candidate for the England cricket party to tour Australia, hit 165—the highest score of his career—against Middlesex in a county match yesterday. Knight, who took six for 50 —his best figures of the season in the Middlesex innings—hit the first 106 before lunch. He passed his previous best of 160 and was finally out after batting for 175 minutes. He hit three sixes and 24 fours. With R. Lukin, who made 82 he equalled the 30-year-old county record stand for the sixth wicket of 206.
