E V Stack I'Palme-wtcn North' in grade 2. R W. Perrott (Havelock North' in grade 3. V. Goodicr (Wellington) in grade 4. and J. W. St. Hill-Davies (Duned!n) in grade 5. Goodier and Hill-Davies were new to the tournaments. An Ashburton player. P W. Boag. won the handicap tournament. R Lindley (Hawera) was second and C Whitehouse 'Auckland' third Tn the assoe’ation’s first annual ranking list, based on games from the 1955-56 season onwards. L. Everman (Dunedin) is placed first with an assessment of 848, Fou’ds second with 815. A. J. McDermott (Dunedin) third with 808. van Dijk fourth with 805 and Cunningham and van Pelt equal fifth with 775. The hlghert-ranknng Canterbury player is N. E. H. Fulton (Ashburton), who is placed seventeenth with 684 points Fulton did not play in the latest championship tournament.
