Coldwell, the Worcestershire medium-pace bowler, had won a place in the English team to tour Australia. after his display against Pakistan in the second test at lord’s on Saturday. The newspaper’s cricket correspondent said that Coldwell, "although a late replacement, has bowled his way to Australia. His match figures of nine for 110 were notable, and in 55 overs he bowled scarcely a loose ball.”
