Bond 63 not out), beat Cambridge University 117 (R. White 67) and 143. by 221 runs. Sussex 325 (D. M. Sheppard 108, J. H. M. Parks 62; D. Pithey five for 112) and five tor 190 (Sheppard 55), beat Oxford University 226 for eight declared, and 287 (R. Minns 57 not out; S. Cooper five for 111), by five wickets. Kent 192 and four for 158 declared (P E. Richardson 52). drew with Glamorgan, nine for 145 declared and seven for 194 (J. Pressdee 88). Kent four points. Northamptonshire 201 (A. Lightfoot 66; R. Illingworth seven for 40) and four for 152, beat Yorkshire 157 and 193 (G. Bolus 50), by six wickets. Northamptonshire 14 points. Hampshire eight for 267 declared (R. E. Marshall 112) and eight for 228 declared, drew with Warwickshire seven for 268 declared (N. Horner 85. M. T. K. Smith 68, R. Hitchcock 66 not out), and three for 62. Warwickshire four points.

Derbyshire six for 190 declared (W Oates 74 C. Carr 74) and five for 224 (1. Hall 87. D. Carr 51). beat Essex 122 (H Jackson seven for 35) and six for 290 declared (B. Knight 80. T. E. Bailey not out 70), by five wickets, Derbyshire 14 points. Surrey 254 (S. Storey 119 and 241 (A. Parsons 68, P. B H. May 75) beat Somerset 105 (M Sydenham five for 33) and 330 (B. Roe 58. H. Stephenson 76), bv 60 runs. Surrey 14 points.
