(N.Z.P .A-Reuter—Copyright)

LONDON, June 24.

England completed its expected win over Pakistan in the second test match at Lord’s yesterday, winning by nine wickets with two days to spare.

But before clinching victory the shortcomings of its bowling on a good wicket were sharply demonstrated by Javed Burki, the Pakistan captain, and the left-hander, Nasim-Ul-Ghani.

Together, they put on 197 for the fifth wicket, flogging the bowling in a stand which was a record for any Pakistan partnership against England.

Both made 101. It was Burki s third century m five tests against England; Nasim had never before made a hundred in a first-class match

Their stand took Pakistan's second innings score from the overnight 103 for four to 355 all out, leaving England to score only 86 for victory.

The runs came in just over an hour. Stewart. Cowdrey and Dexter hammering the Pakistan attack.

The last 50 runs were scored in 21 minutes. 32 by Dexter.

The Worcestershire pace bowler, L. Cold well, took six for 85 yesterday and his match figures in his first test were nine tor 110. F. S.
