Indoor Bowls Waikato Pair Wins Title
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND. June 81. A Waikato pair. N Hull and R. Loader, beat Mrs E. Petersen and E. Pilgrim (Horowhenua) in a disappointing final of the national indoor bowls pair* championship. 20-S. this afternoon. Mrs Petersen and Pilgrim had previously won the title in 1955 when it was last played in Auckland, while Loader was runner-up in the event in 1900 at Lower Hutt and won in 1959 at Rotorua. Last year's winners. M. taint and E. F. Smith (Canterburyl. went out In the third round to H. J. Wehipiehana (Horowhenua). While the Horowhenua pair struggled to score t points in the final, it went away to a runaway victory In the semifinal against Mrs M Brain (Thames Valley), winning by the comfortable margin of 11-3
