Sir Austin Anderson will retire from the board of directors of P. and O. Orient Lines on April 30 next year. He joined Anderson, Green and Company after graduating from Cambridge and was appointed a director in 1924, and chairman in 1950 In 1952 he became chairman of the Orient Steam Navigation Company.
Mr G. A. G Connal. a city councillor, and his wife will leave by air today for a holiday visit to Australia. They will be away about five weeks in Sydney and Brisbane. In Brisbane, they will see their elder daughter, Rosamunde, who is I singing in four operas being presented in Australia by the' Elizabethan Trust. They' [will hear her sing in “Lal iTraviata.”
