Reserve Bank Post

WELLINGTON. June 15.

Tire Minister of Finance (Mr Lake) announced the appointment of Mr A. R. Low as Deputy Governor of the Reserve Bank today. Mr Lake said Mr Low was a well-known economist who had been Assistant Governor since 1960. He was a past president of the Wellington branch of the Economic Society and of the New Zealand Association of Economists.

Mr Low graduated a master of arts with first class honours in economics from Canterbury University and ioined the Reserve Bank in 1938. He became assistant economist in 1948 and economic adviser to the Reserve Bank three years later.
