DISCIPLINE IN PARTY

The executive committee of the Central Committee of the Jugoslav Communist Partv has said bluntly that lack of discipline in the party was jeopardising this independent Communist country. “Komunist," the official organ of the party yesterday published the letter of the executive committee addressed to members and leaders of the party, the Associated Press reported The letter was written in April, after a meeting of the Politbureaj presided over by President Tito. Until now it has been available only to party members.
The letter bluntly accused some party members of disobeying decisions of the party It demanded increased responsibility and discipline and threatened with expulsion those who disobeyed. It said Jugoslavia was running into economic troubles, listed as: slowed increase of production, increased spending. increased imbalance in foreign trade, price rises and slowed dowm export trade.
