Radio Noise A complaint about the noise of radios in the wards at the Christchurch Hospital had been received by the North Canterbury Hospital Board, and a recommendation had been prepared for the board by its institutions committee, the medical superintendent - in - chief (Dr, T Morton) said yesterday Asked whether it might not be possible to provide an earphone service as at the Princess Margaret Hospital, Dr Morton said this would be a fairly expensive business at “a rambling place” like the Christchurch Hospital.

Centre For Blind More than £300.000 will be spent on the first stage of a new school and centre for the blind at Homai, near Manurewa. Auckland The Government yesterday approved acceptance of a tender fpr the project. The Minister of Education (Mr Tennent) said the work approved was the major part of the scheme. It comprised hostels, classrooms, assembly hall, hobbies room, library and music-teaching rooms.— (P.A.)
