Taxis Hired For Stevedores
(N.‘£. Press Assn. —Copyright) SYDNEY, June 13 A bus proprietor in the steel-mill town of Wollongong, south of Sydney, hired a fleet of 20 taxis today to take 200 waterside workers to work.
The proprietor, Mr John Hills, has a contract with the Waterside Workers’ Federation to get the men to work. But his firm is involved in a strike by 180 bus drivers over the use of ticket machines in buses.
