Parish Calls Its Minister

The Rev. W. A. Davies, who has been minister of Si. Enoch's Presbyterian Church. New Brighton, for the last two years after having been appointed by the Christchurch Presbytery's home ministry committee, has accepted a call from the congregation to remain as its minister. The call was sustained and accepted at the meeting of the Christchurch Presbytery on Tuesday. Previously the perish has been receiving assistance from the home ministry committee and was not entitled to call a minister. The convener of the home ministry committee (the Rev. K S. Cree) said that the parish was now independent.
