Parliament’s Diary

The House of Representatives went into committee yesterday afternoon to consider the revised report of the Select Committee on Standing Orders. This was adopted, with 60 amendments and with some exceptions. During the evening, the Address-in-Reply debate was .continued. The speakers were:— Opposition: the Leader of the Opposition (Mr Nash), Mr S. A. Whitehead (Nelson). Miss M B. Howard (Sydenham), Mr M. Moohan (Petone). Government: the Minister of Finance (Mr Lake), Messrs R. D. Muldoon (Tamaki), D. -J. Riddiford (Wellington Central), and A. Me. Cready (Otaki). The House rose at 1030 p.m. until 2.30 p.m. today.
