Mr G Elmour haclassed New Zealand criticism of his team on its recent New Zealand tour as an attempt “to break New Caledonia's soccer neck" In a letter to the Eastern Suburbs’ club coach. Mr C Dempsey. Mr Elmour says the team is very upset by remarks made at a New Zealand Football Association council meeting by the national chairman <Mr J Kershaw). Mr Elmour said the trio was undertaken to help New Zealand after a breakdown of tour plans by the Brazilian club. Olaria. “The New Zealand association." he writes, “is now breaking our neck after what we have done to help it.” Y
