(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, June 8 The National Assistance Board in Britain spent £lB5 million last year in helping to fight poverty. Apart from £l2 million covering administrative expenses, all the money was devoted to grants and other welfare benefits. Out Of Hospital.— Charles Laughton left the Memorial Hospital for Cancer and Allied Diseases last night, a hospital spokesman said. The 62-year-old actor entered the hospital five days ago for examination of a reported sacroiliac condition and troubles from a fractured jawbone which he suffered last January.—New York, June 8.
