Vietnam

Sir, —“P.J.A.” says Russia is trying to keep the world at peace. Why does she refuse to sign a treaty banning all further bomb tests with adequate means of inspection to see that conditions are carried out? The other Powers are willing to do so. Russia is supplying arms to Indonesia, so that the latter may. take over a primitive race in New Guinea that is not racially connected with the Indonesian people. If Russia really had the welfare of the New Guinea people at heart she would support a movement that the country should be administered by the United Nations until its people are ready to decide their owm future. Russia was nob concerned about what the Hungarian people desired when she sent in her tanks to restore a government that was distasteful to them. Russia adopts a policy to suit her own ends. —Yours, etc., SCEPTIC. June 5, 1962.
