The calypso singer, Harry Belafonte, and a raciallymixed group were accepted for registration at a fashionable Atlanta motel today, but were not allowed to eat lunch at the motel restaurant. It was the first time that negroes had been admitted to any major Atlanta hotel or motel. But the group charged it was refused Service at the restaurant, the Hing’s Inn. Negro groups .protested immediately. Belafonte’s party included the African folk singer, Miriam Makeba. the negro integration leader, the Rev. Ralph Abernethy, of Atlanta, and Mr Merrick, Belafonte’s white manager
