SYDNEY. June 6 ‘‘Miss New Zealand’s” brother, who is a “Mr Universe” entrant and a sparetime opera singer, is working on Sydney’s multimillion pound opera house project. He Is Mr Wene Kingi, aged 25. whose mother is Scottish and whose father is a full-blooded Maori Mr King: has been in Australia for two years and a half working as a carpenter He is sft 7in tall and has an athletic ohysioue “Mv immediate ambition is to ‘rain hard on the weights and win the amateur ‘Mr New Zealand' title.” he said today “I then hone to enter the amateur ‘Mr Universe’ quest" Mr Kingi said he . was a health fanatic and built his diet on health foods, including wheat germ and non-fat meats He did not smoke or drink Since coming to Australia ihe has taken singing lessons ;‘‘My ultimate ambition is to become an opera singer.” he | said "Although Tam partly Maori- and like Maori songs, my favourite songs are Italian ” Mr King; said that last November, the Australian Broadcasting Corporation was making a television survey on the opera house site and
asked him to sing an aria He sang “Strange Harmony of Contrasts" from “Tosca." Mr Kingi's sister. Maureen, aged 19. won the “Miss New Zealand” title on Monday
