M. J. Skelton Suspended
The Canterbury District Committee has over-ruled a decision of the judicial committee of the Amberley Racing Club over a penalty imposed .on the Riccarton apprentice, M. J. Skelton. Skelton had been fined £5 by the judicial committee of the Amberley club for careless riding after his mount. Flaxman, had caused interference to Safe Harbour in the Amherley Cup at the club's annual meeting on May 19. After reviewing the evidence and hearing Skelton and his employer, J. A. Cox, on Tuesday, the Canterbury District Committee decided that instead of a fine, the offence warranted suspension. Skelton was, therefore, suspended until 5 p.m. on June 9.
