ROYALIST'S CRUISE
Promotion Of Tourism (NZ Pres, Associations AUCKLAND, June 6 The New Zealand cruiser Royalist will promote tourism and trade during her four months in Canadian and United States waters. She will leave Auckland on Wednesday Her commander (Commodore J. O’C Ross) said today his officers and men are being fully briefed on aspects of the country—its way of Hfe. trade and tourism—so they may speak intelligently >n New Zealand “Six hundred sailors can exert quite a bit of selling power,” he said. ‘Our men will go into a lot of homes and meet many people and we can do nothing but good in following up this important line.” In the last fortnight the ?rmser has been exercising constantly, working up her crew into an efficient unit Everywhere ,he calls on her cruise she will display a special photographic exhibit, of New Zealand, as well as greenstone and Maori carvings. She will carry “giveaways” of plastic pennants, cigarette lighten,, tikia. and tie-pins as well as several carved meres tor praaontations.
