Marshal I And Spaak Meet

The New Zealand Deputy Prime Minister (Mr Marshal!) conferred with the Belgian Foreign Minister (Mr Spaak) immediately he arrived in Brussels from London today.
Mr Marshall said they discussed New’ Zealand's position in the light of Britain's application for membership of the Common Market and that he was able to give Mr Spaak more details about his Government's point of view Mr Marshal] said he had to'.d Mr Spaak that New Zealand had made determined efforts to promote the sale of her produce throughout the world but that she had not found any outlets w’hich could in any w»ay compare with her market in the United Kinedcm “For this reason a short transitional period would be damaging to us and would net preserve our vital interests." he told Mr Spaak.
