EXHIBITION OF SCHOOL ART

Invitation To N.I. Pupils (N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON. May 25 Budding artists at North Island secondary schools will have their work taken on tour later this year. The arts and craft branch of the Education Department has invited secondary school students from all parts of the North Island to submit work in painting, drawing, lino-cuts, murals, group paintings and posters, for an exhibition of secondary schools’ art. Prizes will be awarded. The exhibition will be opened by the Minister of Education (Mr Tennent) in Wellington on August 13. before touring other Norih Island centres.

A panel of Wellington secondary school students will select 100 works from those submitted, to be included in the exhibition. The selection of a further 200 will be made by an adult panel
