PAKISTANIS RECOVER
Faced Innings Defeat ( N.Z.PA.-Reuter—Copyright) HOVE (Sussex), May 25. Pakistan, 204 runs behind Sussex on the first innings, looked in danger of suffering a two-day defeat today when the side lost five second innings wickets for 92. But the side was saved by a fighting unbroken sixth wicket stand of 96 by their captain, Javed Burki <62 not out) and Intikhab Alam (40 not but). Highlight of the early play was a dashing 117 by the Sussex captain, E W Dexter, who will lead England against the tourists in the first test a week today For the second time in six days—he made 79 for M.C.C. against Pakistan last week—he gave the touring bowlers a severe mauling.
