Graveney had cracked a magnificent 110 in the M.C.C. second innings of 237 for five declared, the Pakistanis were left with four hours to get 287 to win. Rain held up the start of the tourists’ innings for twenty minutes, then the fast bowler, D. Larter, struck two quick blows by sending back Alim-ud-Din and Saeed Ahmed for only 22 runs.
