Berlei Purchase Of Woolcraft
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 23. Berlei Industries, Ltd., by a share exchange worth £81,150, has acquired Woolcraft, Ltd., Auckland manufacturer of men’s and women’s knitted outerwear. This means Berlei will no longer manufacture exclusively for women. The acquisition of Woolcraft follows the take-over of Laddaloc Lingerie two months ago. The latest move is in accordance with the planned development of Berlei and will provide diversification of its activities as did the Laddaloc deal. Consideration for Woolcraft is 30,000 Berlei shares plus £9OO in cash. Berlei shares were last traded at 53s 6d.
