J. Nicklaus For Troon
Troon, from where A. J. Shaw came to enrich the New Zealand golfing scene, will be the venue of the 1962 British open golf championship in July. Already the former United States amateur champion, J Nioklaus. whose brilliant achievements at the world amateur championships in Philadelphia two years ago captured international headlines. is favoured by many to win the claesic event—in spite of the stiff opposition likely. Nicklaus’s entry was received by the Royal and Ancient recently, as was that of Roberto de Vicenzo, of Mexico, but tihe former's has, perhaps, excited the greater interest. His effort in finishing third in a three-cornered play-off in the Houston (Texas) £17,850 classic has been given some prominence -London correspondent
