Les Brooks and Graham Sweet, left Bluff on April 23 and will continue to push the cart until they reach North Cape. Their Welsh pride has already been hurt by a 'young girl who jumped from a car and asked them for an icecream Others have stopped and said: “What are you selling-’" They are not selling icecreams; nor is it a stunt The two young, men are touring through the country on foot and hope, to see as much is possible. “We’re in no hurry.” .said Les

They have already travelled through most European countries and are now on a tour of the countries in the Southern Hemisphere. They are in .their late twenties. The waggon was built in Invercargill and carries their camping fear and everything else needed for a comfortable trip A canvas hood covers them when pushing in bad weather When on the road at night the cart is illuminated by an oil lamp swinging from the shelter. A Welsh flag is sewn to the canvas So far they have passed through Southland to Lake Wakitipu. stayed at Queenstown. Arrowtown and Cromwell. and are now on their way to Omarama “We don’t mind stopping to talk to people." said Les “But we don’t like people stopping us for ice-creams ”
