FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone covers the South Island and is moving eastwards. Forecast:— Westland, Buller. Nelson and Inland Marlborough.—Winds mainly light or moderate and variable, but fresh easterlies outside Tasman Bay; fine with moderate afternoon temperatures. Coastal Marlborough.—Fresh but decreasing south-easterlies: a few scattered light showers early, otherwise partly cloudy and rather cool. Canterbury.—Light or moderate variable winds, north-easterlies predominating about the coast; some cloudy areas at first, otherwise fine with cool to moderate temperatures. Outlook.—All districts: mainly fine. CHRISTCHURCH READINGS
