J. Walsh Not Available

J. Walsh, the Marist second five-eighths, is not available for the Canterbury team to play West Coast on Saturday because of injury. He has been replaced in the representative training squad by J. M. Bray (Hornby). G. Clark (Christchurch). W. Karina (Sydenham) and A. Williams (Hornby) have beep added to the senior B training squad, from which P McQuinn (Marist) ha* withdrawn. ’ The convener of the selectors (Mr P. A. Smith) said at last evening’s meeting of the Canterbury Rugby League’s Board of Control that the Canterbury A and B teams for Saturday would be announced on Wednesdav evening. Advice was received that Mr E Pilcher of Wellington, has been aopointed referee of the West Coast fixture. Mr G Neiman was appointed manager of both Canterbury teams. A decision whether Papanui and Hornby will play off for the Tavendale Cup will be made later in the season.
