INSURANCE CLAIMS

Quick Calls To

Offices

(From Our Own Reporter) GREYMOUTH, May 10. Many West Coasters lost no time in making claims against the Earthquake and War Damage Commission and insurance companies after today’s severe earthquake. Within half an hopr of the main shock at 12.27 p.m., telephone lines into insurance offices in Greymouth were choked with calls from persons wanting to report damage to property. Most were those whose chimneys had been brought down.

Arrangements have been made for an officer of the Earthquake and War Damage Commission to visit Greymouth next week, although it seems likely he will first concentrate on Westport, where the heaviest damage occurred.

Claim forms against the

commission are held at the Greymouth Borough Council’s office.
